About this Sample Real-board sample of Thermory Vivid Silver applied to thermally modified Spruce (Norway Spruce, Picea abies). What is Thermory Vivid Silver? Vivid Silver is part of Thermory’s Vivid Silvered collection — a factory-applied wood finish system that delivers a uniform pre-weathered gray that delivers the silvered look from day one — no waiting for natural UV graying. The full Vivid line includes Silver, Black, Coastal White, White Oak, Exotic Brown, and Golden Brown. Recoating interval: no recoating required — clean only. What is Thermory Spruce? Thermory Spruce is lightweight softwood with tight knots and superior dimensional stability after thermal modification. Each board is thermally modified at 215°C+ using only heat and steam — no chemicals added. The result: Durability Class 1 (25+ years decay protection), dramatically lower moisture absorption, and superior dimensional stability compared to untreated spruce. Material is responsibly sourced from Northern Europe. How is the finish applied? Vivid Silver is mill-applied — the finish is sprayed in a controlled factory environment, not on the jobsite. Mason’s Mill also offers our own mill-applied prefinishing service for projects requiring custom or matched coatings. Factory-applied finishes deliver consistent color across all four faces, eliminate jobsite weather risk, and arrive ready to install. Specifiers commonly use it for modern exterior facades, accent walls, soffits, and feature siding on contemporary residential, hospitality, and commercial architecture. Why specify a factory finish over field finishing? Even coverage on all four faces eliminates uneven swelling No jobsite cure delays or weather dependency Consistent color batch-to-batch Faster install — boards arrive ready to fasten Longer service life from controlled application What’s in this sample?
