The Wall

Photographer Henrike Schenk loves tropical plants and cacti. Unfortunately, they don’t grow in her native Netherlands. So when she was visiting the island of Capri in Italy, she took advantage of the vegetation and took as many photos as she could. Cacti may not be immediately associated with Capri, but they are one of the reasons Schenk loves visiting Italy so much. This print features a wall of San Pedro cactus, a fast-growing and beautiful plant. “I love visiting places where plants like this grow,” she says. “I would have a garden full of tropical plants if the climate would allow it.”
