The Visit

You came to meet the baby. This is for her. Everyone arrives with something for the baby. The Visit is what you carry for her: something for her hair, a cream for the sink, a candle with its own matches, and flowers for the top of whatever someone else just made her. Nothing for the baby. Nothing that needs doing. The thing you bring when you've been told not to bring anything. Why we built itThe Visit is for the person who's coming over. It's the flowers without the vase, and it stays on her counter after everyone goes home. The pieces, and whyThe Quiet Botanist, Moody Blooms Candle Lit in the evening.
