The Virginia

Dr. Virginia Apgar was an anesthesiologist who revolutionized newborn care with the creation of the Apgar Score in 1952.  The simple scoring system—evaluating heart rate, respiration, muscle tone, reflexes, and color—gave clinicians a quick, standardized way to assess a baby’s condition immediately after birth. Her work dramatically improved neonatal outcomes by prompting faster recognition and treatment of distressed infants.  Beyond this, she became a major advocate for maternal and infant health, later working with the March of Dimes to advance research and education in birth defects. We believe you shouldn’t have to choose between comfort and confidence.  Lilac Market Headbands were born from the frustration of headbands that slipped, squeezed, or just didn’t last. So we thoughtfully designed one that actually works — and feels as good as it looks.  Each piece is handcrafted in Springfield, Missouri using our signature buttery-soft, ultra-stretch fabric that gently hugs without pulling. The double-layer construction absorbs sweat and stays in place, while the 3-in-1 twist design lets you switch up your look effortlessly. Wear it to your toughest workout, your longest shift, or your everyday moments — because real life deserves accessories that keep up.
