The Verdigris Lintel, Antique Architectural Lintel

The Verdigris Lintel is a high-energy sculptural fragment that brings a splash of antique color to the architectural collection. Hand-carved from solid teak, this 49-inch lintel is defined by its stunning distressed turquoise and verdigris patina. The surface retains thick layers of original mineral-based pigments, which have crackled and worn away over the last century to reveal the warm, oxidized timber beneath. Unlike the purely floral motifs of its companions, this carving features a dense narrative relief. Nestled among swirling Mughal vines are figures that appear to represent a traditional procession, including animals and attendants, making it a "story-piece" for your wall. The central block remains prominent, featuring a weathered geometric medallion that likely served as the focal point of a 19th-century doorway. Whether styled as a mantle accent or a high-impact door header, this piece offers a perfect blend of Tribal Folk Art and colonial architectural salvage.
As an authentic architectural salvage piece, "The Verdigris Lintel" is presented in its Original Antique Condition. It displays a heavily weathered and textured surface, with significant pigment loss, minor structural fissures in the teak, and softened carving details that are characteristic of true 19th-century salvage.  • *Era: 19th Century  • *Size: 49“(L) x 2.5“(D) x 6“(H)  • *Material: Salvaged Solid Teak; Original Mineral Pigments  • *Color: Green/Aged Wood  • *Features: Complex narrative carving; thick distressed turquoise patina; central geometric medallion.  • *Origin: India   • *Condition: Original Antique Condition.
