The Sunset Summit (Open Edition)

The Story A silhouette of two Great Blue Herons interacting atop a pier structure, set against a vibrant, solid orange sunset sky over the water. The Location Captured along the shores of the Potomac River, this image reflects the specific ecology, light, and heritage of a region unlike any other on the Atlantic coast. From the tidal creeks of Southern Maryland to the open waters of the Bay, every frame tells a story rooted in place. Artist's Perspective "Two herons interacting on a pier at sunset — one arriving, one already claiming the spot. The silhouette treatment was an instinctive choice. When the sky is that color, you let it be the story and reduce everything else to shape." — Ryan Lott Curator's Recommendation The horizontal orientation (landscape cut) makes this piece well-suited for living rooms, offices, and above fireplaces. Available as a fine art paper print or archival-quality framed canvas in white or black. Particularly well-suited for high-traffic spaces where visual impact is paramount.
