The Storyteller

Travelling with their aunt on a train at the turn-of-the-century, three bored children find no relief when their guardian attempts to entertain them with a thinly veiled morality story. Admonishing the aunt, a gentleman in the same compartment promises to tell a story that the children will both understand and appreciate. Their aunt is shocked by his seemingly inappropriate story, but the children are enthralled to discover that the remarkable stranger delivers on his promise! "Bringing to mind innovative ways literature can be introduced to school children, this excellent dramatization underscores the elements of a good story."—Booklist. "Useful for stimulating discussion of values, and also valuable to groups studying storytelling techniques." — Landers. Based on the sbort story by Saki. An LCA release.
