The Soul's Longing

Demonstrates the deep connection between spiritual life and biblical interpretation. It offers a critique of modern developments within biblical scholarship and suggests a return to the hermeneutic of the early Church which saw an inseparable link between spiritual life and correctly understanding the Scriptures. At once approachable and soundly supported by thorough scholarship, it is among the best resources on the Orthodox scriptural hermeneutic and provides a finely articulated response to erroneous perspectives on scriptural interpretation prevalent today.
