The Shift Kits

Please Note: The pattern is NOT included with this kit! You can purchase a copy by clicking here. I contacted the exceedingly popular and talented designer Andrea Mowry to get permission to kit up her The Shift cowl. She said yes! I have to tell you that rarely have I completed a project and before I’m even done I’m planning my next one. I want to knit up several. I’ve been throwing The Shift on over sweaters, under my coat and over dresses. It’s such a great accessory. The Shift cowl is fun and entertaining to knit and it’s incredibly wearable when you’re done. And it’s the perfect size for no-fuss wear. The Shift is worked flat and uses slipped stitches to create the color pattern. You only use one color per row and the knitting becomes rhythmic and simple once you get it down. An I-cord edging is worked in as you go. The two edges without I-cord are then stitched together to create the cowl. Here is a little note from Andrea:  "This cowl is the perfect all-the-time accessory! And the answer for all of those knitters out there who love to knit shawls, but have a hard time styling them. A fun and engaging knit with shifting colors that looks like an asymmetrical triangle shawl, and it only takes a fiddle-free second to throw it on as the finish to every outfit!” The Shift Kit includes three of Woolens in curated color combinations with several kit colorways available. I have to tell you that I made my Shift just fine with one skein of each color. 14 grams of Loam (dark grey), 6 grams of Greenland (icy mint green) and 8 grams of October Road (deep pumpkin) remaining for each of the three colors. But if you are worried about running out or you knit at a looser gauge we have a Double It! option to get two skeins of each color.  Thank you, Andrea, for making the launch of Woolens extra-special with your adorably clever The Shift cowl!
