Terre (Dirt) Perfume Layering Note

Terre is a fresh tilled from the garden type of earthy dirt perfume layering note that adds an outdoorsy vibe to any scent profile. It brings out naturalistic elements of grass/green/herbal perfumes and uniquely showcases single florals like honeysuckle or lily. Takes down the saccharine qualities of overly sweet and floral scents and makes anything with cacao or patchouli richer and deeper. Terrae loves fern and mossy perfumes and will make them smell more authentic to nature. Can be worn as an unconventional standalone perfume. Wears well for all genders but is especially suited to male skin chemistry. Best layered under: Greens, florals, dry musks, spices, cacao, chypres, patchouli, incenses Best for fixing: Perfumes that are too sweet, floral, conventional, sharp, artificial, herbal, spicy, or linear. Perfumes where the leather element is turning sour or where the aldehydes are too strong. Layering notes let you shift and alter your scents to match your mood or the seasons, to take advantage of subtle skin chemistry changes, or to dabble with the olfactory arts of niche perfumery. Layering notes are also an easy way to customize your favorite scents and make them uniquely and unforgettably yours.... or can help rekindle a romance with perfume you once loved but are getting a little bored with. The simplicity and uncomplicated linear qualities of single notes are distinctive in and of themselves for stand alone. Art: Break Ground by Grant Wood, c. 1936
