Pretty, classic and expressive. Silky cherimoya and slate with crystalline purity. Dijon 76 clone. Dundee Hills AVA 675 ft elevation. Steep south facing. Barrel fermented, 15% new oak. Aged in barrel 10 months and then 4 months in tank. 12.6% Glucose + Fructose <0.5 g/L Titratable Acidity 6.3 g/L “The 2022 Chardonnay Maresh Vineyard comes from a block of Dijon clone vines planted in 1991 in the Dundee Hills on a steep, south-facing slope at 675 feet of elevation. Barrel fermented and matured for 10 months in 15% new French oak, plus four months in stainless steel, it’s reminiscent of Chablis and boasts exceptionally pure aromas. It opens with flint and petrichor before blossoming to apricot, elderflower liqueur, lime peel and hazelnuts. The palate is vibrant and silky with understated layers of creamy, peachy fruit, and its linear acidity and flinty tones come together for a shimmery finish. For several days after it's opened, the Maresh Vineyard becomes more and more expressive, pointing to a long life in the cellar. 95 - Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate. bhn n.23 Barolo 2018 (2) 92 POINTS ON WINE ENTHUSIAST "Aromas of black cherries, dried rose, savory spice and thyme waft from the glass. Classic vibrant acidity and fine tannins greet the palate, revealing notes of dried orange peel, tea and a vibrant minerality. Drink from now–2035." — Jeff Porter A late-harvest Barolo illuminated by power, grace and a focused purity, bhn No. 23 2018 Barolo is derived from 50-year-old Nebbiolo vines at the highest elevations in the Barolo appellation. Aged in large oak casks, the primary fermentation develops over 60 days. Silky and graceful, the complex bouquet exhibits notes of violets, blood orange and rustic, tilled Earth . With only 3,000 bottles in existence, this 2023 debut demonstrates carefully measured intensity and marks the first wine produced by growers that meet the strict, premium, quality-controlled standards. This inspired, elegant wine evolves in the glass, beaming with poise, elegance and rousing aromas.
