The North American Thebaid

The North American Thebaid, by Ralph H Sidway This is an incredible and unique book demonstrating, through stunning photographs, the vibrancy of Orthodox monastic life in America. Presented in a large, clothbound edition of over two hundred full color pages and printed in Great Britain, this is a book that will ornament any coffee table or church library. The high quality of this publication also means that it is very expensive to print. We are grateful for the many who have supported the Thebaid Project by pre-ordering through Mr. Sidway's website. If you have not already pre-ordered, we invite you now to pre-order through our website in order to offset the high expense. The North American Thebaid has been sent to the printers and we expect to receive the books by April 1. Features photographs and a brief summary of over thirty monasteries in the lower forty-eight and Alaska. Includes monasteries from many jurisdictions among whom are: Holy Trinity (Jordanville, NY), New Skete (Cambridge, NY), Saint Anthony's (Florence, Ariz.), St Herman's (Platina, Calif.), and Saint Michael (Spruce Island, Alaska). Introduced by Mother Christophora of Holy Transfiguration Monastery (Ellwood City, Penn.) Also included are three feature articles by Abbot Sergius of Saint Tikhon's, Hieroschemamonk Ambrose (Young), and Abbot Tryphon of Vashon Island. 224 pages.  10" x 12" Smyth-sewn and clothbound with dust jacket **Because of the high cost of publishing, we are not able to offer bulk discounts on this title at this time.
