The Motherland

20 inches x 24 inches, acrylic on canvas. This  painting is dominated by a chaotic mix of Afro-centric colors of green, yellow, and black, overlaid with a flowing red outline of the Motherland, Africa. The painting is bordered by a simple, repeating tribal -insprired pattern in white. The style is expressive and energetic, with visible brushstrokes and splatters adding to the sense of movement and spontaneity. The colors evoke a feeling of vibrancy, though the overall dark background creates a slightly ominous undertone.
