The McGrath Bomber Jacket - Solid Colors

The McGrath Bomber Jacket is a made-in-USA cotton canvas bomber jacket. Americana Pipedream's first 100% original garment, crafted right here in the United States. Built from a rugged 10-ounce cotton canvas exterior for unbridled durability at work, home, or play, and lined with lightweight, cool-to-the-touch 4.5-ounce French twill, it's an American-made work jacket designed to be worn hard and kept for decades. Logan is 5'11", 165 pounds, wearing a size medium. Please read the Care & Maintenance instructions below, and find the Size Guide at the bottom of this listing. A total of five pockets throughout the jacket leaves you enough space to store a phone, gloves, or anything else you may need throughout your day. Two pockets utilize snap-cap flap closure to keep your items secure, while another two located directly behind them make for great easy-access or hand-warming pockets. Another pocket on the left interior breast allows for a phone or wallet to be stored securely. Both the cuffs and hem are made using Wisconsin-produced nylon rib knit. This ensures additional warmth and adds additional comfort. A medium brown corduroy collar backed by canvas for rigidity adds an extra bit of distinction and timeless style. The final touches include zippers and snaps made by IDEAL, the first company to take out a patent for a zipper. It's finished in antique brass for a vintage look. In case of snags, drop a dollop of Zipper Ease or other zipper lubricant on there and run the zipper a few times. Available Colorways Our solid-color run comes in three rich, versatile shades: Maple, Choccy Milk/Hickory, and Pine. Two classic, wear-with-anything colorways, Black and Navy Blue, will join the lineup in September 2026. The McGrath Bomber's Origin Story The McGrath Bomber Jacket is the product of years of development by the Americana Pipedream team. This project began in 2021 with nothing more than one sketchbook drawing of a "work jacket" printed in the rare and obscure East German Blumentarn camouflage pattern. With AP being a new company of only two employees in 2021, neither of whom had any experience in clothing design, this project remained only a pipedream... until now. Since 2021 we have spent hundreds of hours designing, prototyping, testing, and tweaking the jacket's design. Our goal in embarking on this project was to create the highest quality, most comfortable jacket possible while reviving vintage style and niche camouflage patterns. In late 2024, we released the first run of The McGrath Bomber Jacket with much success. We sold out in less than two weeks, and our jacket got into the hands of some absolute legends — both Tyler Childers and Andy Bishop of Red Clay Strays fame wore one. We're extremely thankful for the success The McGrath Bomber in Blumentarn had, and hope you'll enjoy the solid color runs just as much! Why We Made This Jacket in the USA We've decided to manufacture our jacket here in the United States. This decision allows us, and you, to support local American garment manufacturing. Once a proud and thriving sector of the American economy, much of this work has been outsourced to India, Vietnam, Mexico, and other places. We hope that our choice to manufacture the McGrath Bomber here in the US will provide support not only to domestic manufacturing, but to the families of those employed in the business of clothing production. Why 10-Ounce Cotton Canvas? This fabric stands as a steadfast companion for those who cherish long-lasting adventure and resilience against nature's elements. Cotton canvas is a versatile material: it can be waxed to repel water, it bravely guards against the sharpest thorns and edges, and its sturdy weave shields you from the fiercest winds. Whether you're navigating through dense woods or braving mountain trails, cotton canvas offers a reliable fortress of comfort and protection. Ten-ounce cotton canvas falls into a middle ground in the realm of jackets. Tough and durable enough to last for decades if properly cared for, but not too heavy for fall and spring weather. Our choice to use ten-ounce canvas will ensure that your jacket withstands wearing, tearing, and washing. Why Rib Knit Cuffs and Waist? Rib knit is a stretchy type of fabric often used to add insulating properties to a garment. Rib knit conforms to your body and helps to keep heat in. Not only is this material useful for heat retention, it's also incredibly comfortable and allows you to wear a wristwatch without snags.
