Artisan: The Matchbox Maker was founded in 2025 by friends Michelle Harle and Katie Crosbie Dawson, who met at the races and discovered they were both ready for a new creative chapter. Pairing Katie's background in the gift industry with Michelle's eye for bespoke luxury goods, the two set out to reimagine an everyday object as something worth keeping — as they put it, starting with "a tiny spark from which we hope great flames will grow."
