The Macallan Edition No. 1

The good folks at The Macallan just keep on tinkering in the rick-houses. They continually come up with new twists and tweaks to wring out special flavor profiles and special editions. The latest range in their portfolio is the Edition Series, and The Macallan No.1 is the debut dram for this new line. The Macallan was historically famous for their use of Sherry cask, and No.1 fits the category. But this special edition uses 8 different types of Sherry casks to develop a richer, more balanced profile. And to keep things real, they have bottled it up at 48% ABV, a few lovely points higher than their core Whisky so every drop pops with added flavor.
