The Layered Divided

This striking mixed-media painting engages the viewer with its interplay of rugged texture and precise linearity. Executed with a compelling blend of acrylic and latex paints, the canvas presents an earthy, variegated ground, reminiscent of ancient walls or geological strata. Across this rich, organic surface, the artist introduces starkly contrasting horizontal and vertical bands in crisp white and luminous chartreuse. These geometric interventions create a dynamic rhythm and spatial tension, dividing and uniting the composition. The distinct textural qualities of the paints, from impasto to subtle washes, enhance the dialogue between spontaneous mark-making and deliberate structure, inviting a closer look at the intricate surface.
