the Growth Rings Zippo

Since we share DNA with trees, I like to think that this is what our soul might look like if we could slice it open. Like a tree cut down, you could count the rings of years lived, and see the years where growth was ample, and the ones where growth was sparse. The Growth Rings Lighter is an everyday carry piece to remind you of the connection we share with trees, and to keep going, keep growing through the years as life shifts and moves around us.  + Brand new 1941 replica brass zippo lighter + Hand forged, heavy gauge tree rings made from reclaimed sterling silver  + Hand stamped and textured  + Stamped “we want to live like trees” + Brushed and oxidized brass and reclaimed sterling silver with a heavy patina and a rustic, vintage texture ** Each piece is finished with a heavy bluish black patina that is hard to capture in photos. It’s like an oil slick rainbow type finish that changes in different light and with movement.  *** Brass will naturally tarnish with regular wear, developing a beautiful patina over time. Sterling silver does the opposite, the more you wear it the less it will tarnish, or need polished. Regular wear will keep the silver on your new lighter looking bright and shiny, while the brass darkens, and a unique contrast takes shape between the two metals.  + All items are handmade, this means that they are not perfect and are not meant to be. Any slight irregularities are to be considered normal and a beautiful part of buying something made by hand not a machine and not a reason for dissatisfaction.
