The Grandfather

Le Grand Père (original French title) Etching printed in three colors on simili-Japon paper. Reference : Delteil 22. Edition of 100, according to Delteil, but quite unlikely, given its scarcity today. Bearing the EM monogram blind stamp of Estampe Moderne, publisher and print dealers in Paris, founded in 1917. Clearly this print was not published by them. They must simply have owned it at a time. Given that they bought out the Galerie Georges Petit, which was specialized in the trade of color etchings, this is not surpizing. This print likely came from that holding. Signed and numbered in pencil.
