The Farfalla Backpack/Sling Pattern

Want a unique, chic, and functional bag? Look no further! Inspired during a trip to Italy, the Farfalla''s design has you covered from every angle – style, size, and security. The "butterfly" style flap is held close with the strap in a unique way that is perfect for fending off pickpocketers, as wearing the bag keeps it tightly closed. One exterior zipper pocket, ideal for your cell phone, sits against your body, while the front exterior pocket is protected by the flap closure. An extra bonus? Zippers on the straps allow for easy conversion from a backpack to a sling! The front button is a window of opportunity for creativity; personalize your Farfalla by making a leather or faux leather button, use that large unique button you''ve been saving for that special something, or snag a large wooden toggle button from our site. In addition to the features mentioned above, the bag has an oval bottom, interior card slots, and an interior slip pocket. Finished Size - 8.75 in W x 12 in H x 5.5 in D. Skill Level - Intermediate. Cotton, cotton canvas, faux leather, or genuine leather can be used to construct this bag. One exterior fabric can be used, or a contrasting fabric can be used for the straps and back/flap. If using cotton or linen for the lining, the pieces will need to be backed with woven interfacing like Classic Fuse, Wovenfuse, or other similar weight interfacing.
