The Essential Abarbanel

What is the World to Come? Do we really have free will? Understanding the story of David and Batsheva... "Although Abarbanel is in fact a writer of great clarity, the thoroughness and length of his commentaries scare some people away. And of course, for those whose Hebrew is weak, his words are a closed book. Rabbi Pinchas Kasnett has embarked on a very ambitious project to make Abarbanel accessible to all Jews, regardless of background. He has already published a well-received adaptation of Abarbanel on the Torah and has continued with this second work entitled The Essential Abarbanel. The book as a whole is a beautiful tapestry of history, theology, philosophy, exegesis, and ethical instruction. Rabbi Kasnett’s lucid summaries and adaptations bring the words and ideas of the master to life and enable Klal Yisrael to once again learn Torah from one of its greatest teachers." —From the Foreword by Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz Rabbi Pinchas Kasnett, a native of Washington, D.C., is a 1970 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Pomona College in Claremont, California, and received rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Avraham Kopshitz of Jerusalem in 1982.  One of the original ten students of Ohr Somayach – Tanenbaum College in Jerusalem, he has served Ohr Somayach in a variety of capacities since 1972.
