Les Œufs de Pâques (original French title) Etching on laid "Dambrecourt Freres" paper. References: Beraldi 6-4 ; not in BN-IFF. Theater program for a theater piece in two acts, organized by the "Cercle de la Press", on April 27, 1878. Lepic gives us a full display of Parisian entertainment in this composition: musicians and stage performers in the top left, a tightrope walker and a snake-charming soldier in the top right, the writer's feather, playing cards and a prototypical "garçon" in the bottom right. And of course, the whole is topped with 5 duck chicks whimsically poking out of a cracked egg.
