In 2023, Hannah Yata put a name to the force that stalks all her work: "The Divine Barbarian," nine feet of oil on canvas where the sacred and the savage stop pretending to be opposites. The title is the thesis — divinity not as serenity but as something wild, feral, and crowned — a goddess in war paint rather than a saint at rest.
