I drew this piece from the daily ritual of Kolam, where women in South India trace intricate patterns outside their doors to welcome the day. It is a quiet invitation to start the morning with intention and grace. The deep black surface serves as a canvas for the gold and silver lines that bloom outward in symmetrical loops. Small mirror fragments are woven into the design, catching the light to create a sense of reflection and movement. It feels like a greeting, a moment of stillness before the world begins to move.
