THE CICADA JAR

Materials - 18k Yellow Gold Weight - 10.2g Measurements - 13.65mm x 25.88mm I press my feet into the bare, cool earth and through the layers of soil I sense rather than feel a change happening beneath me  Pulsing, vibrating, becoming  Rising, pushing, bursting  a movement becomes a hum becomes a melody becomes a song of metamorphosis  The Cicadas dance, surrounding me and I spin around and around with them, laughing together in the incredible weightlessness this possibility  Later, when I woke I whispered into a jar all the things that I had been and I sealed it up tight to carry with me lest I forget in my waking hours
