The Cave was a cocktail lounge located at 20 Boylston Place in Boston and was opened in 1945 by brothers Max and Joe Schneider. Through the 1940s, 50s and 60s, “The Cave” was one of Boston’s hottest nightclubs featuring big band musical performances and appearances by the likes of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, as well as the biggest comedians of the day including Jerry Lewis. Along with the Cave was the Vienna Room and Blue Room, all attached to the bigger restaurant known as Steuben’s. Within the same venue, patrons could frequent the bar, attend shows, dine, and dance, and the matchbook reminds us that there was never a cover charge at the Cave! • Metal shell with flat, magnetic backing • One size (2.25") (5.7cm) • Durable Quality • Charming Decor
