The Best Friends Blend

The Best Friends Blend from Santa Cruz's Cat & Cloud is an espresso that refuses to play it safe. This is coffee with personality—bright, lively, and unapologetically fruit-forward. Designed as an espresso powerhouse, it delivers tropical fruitiness and juicy sweetness that make every shot feel like a celebration. It's the kind of coffee you'd pull for your best friend, which is exactly the point. Beyond the cup, this blend supports Cat & Cloud's Best Friends Club, a program that directly invests in the producers who grow these beans. Every bag sold funnels money back into their lives, businesses, and creative ambitions. The blend format allows Cat & Cloud to amplify that impact exponentially compared to single-origin offerings alone. Tasting NotesExpect bright acidity with tropical fruit at the forefront—think pineapple, passionfruit, and citrus zest. The body is medium but vibrant, with a juicy sweetness that coats the palate without overwhelming it. The finish is crisp and clean, leaving you ready for the next sip. This is espresso that wakes up your taste buds and keeps them engaged. Brew MethodsWhile this coffee was built for espresso, it's versatile enough to shine in other methods. Pull it as a straight shot for maximum fruit impact, or stretch it into a cappuccino where milk tempers the acidity into a creamy, fruit-and-cream experience. It also works beautifully as pour-over if you prefer a lighter-bodied, tea-like expression of those tropical notes. We'd steer clear of French press here—the brightness is the star, and immersion brewing can muddy it. About Cat & CloudCat & Cloud built their reputation on hospitality-first coffee shops and a producer-focused sourcing philosophy. The Best Friends Club program reflects their commitment to long-term relationships with farmers, not just transactional buying. Our team at Clive can help you dial in grinder settings for espresso or recommend gear pairings that'll let this coffee's fruit-forward profile sing. Whether you're new to bright espresso or a seasoned fruity-shot fanatic, we're here to make sure your setup does this blend justice.
