The Ballista Command Set

The Ballista Command Model: ROM034 Scale: 1/30 Finish: Matte This authoritative 1/30 scale two-figure set portrays a Roman Ballista Command team overseeing battlefield artillery operations. Rarely deployed individually, ballistas were typically grouped in batteries of five to ten machines under the direction of a senior Centurion and his appointed bodyguard. The commanding officer is depicted issuing orders, gesturing toward the enemy while holding his crested helmet, embodying the tactical leadership required to coordinate Rome’s powerful torsion artillery. Beside him stands his armored guard, watchful and ready to defend the commander amid the chaos of siege warfare. Roman ballistas were capable of launching heavy bolts and projectiles with deadly accuracy, making them essential in both open battle and fortified assaults. Leadership figures such as these ensured disciplined targeting, timing, and battlefield positioning of the weapons under their control. Finished in rich matte tones with finely sculpted armor, crested helmets, decorated cuirasses, and detailed military dress, this set adds command presence and narrative depth to Roman artillery lines, siege scenes, and legion encampment displays.
