The Athlete (With Skinned Knee)

Original artwork by Christine Bush Roman Artwork measures 24 x 18 inches Mixed media on panel, ready to hang Ships from Charleston, SC Women is a 6-piece collection of abstracted figure paintings that center women as monuments of strength, adaptation, and joy. Limbs extend and bodies stretch to meet the growing demands placed upon them, yet the figures are simultaneously depicted as experiencing moments of private joy. These women are carving out time for themselves through nature, movement, or small rituals, and these moments are celebrated as essential acts where the mundane becomes sacred. This collection acknowledges the weight that women carry while celebrating their capacity for adaptation, joy, and finding peace on their own terms.
