NEW Thäter Handcrafted Shaving Brush

New-in-Box: Thäter Badger Hair Brush In 1913, Heinrich L. Thäter founded a small brushmaking workshop in Nuremberg, Germany. At a time when factories were beginning to dominate manufacturing, Thäter remained committed to doing things by hand. Each shaving brush was carefully assembled using traditional techniques, with an emphasis on craftsmanship over production volume. For the next 110 years, remarkably little changed. While countless grooming brands came and went, Thäter quietly earned a reputation among discerning wet shavers for producing some of the finest handmade shaving brushes in the world. Their Silvertip Badger knots became especially admired for their exceptional softness, density, and ability to create a luxurious lather. Then, in 2023, after more than a century of craftsmanship, Thäter ceased production. No more brushes would be made. The remaining inventory gradually disappeared from retailers around the world, leaving only the brushes already in collectors' hands and the occasional piece of new old stock. When we acquired this brush, we searched the major retailers and secondary marketplaces expecting to find others. We couldn't. New Thäter brushes—especially olivewood Silvertip models like this one—have become extraordinarily difficult to locate. Whether you're a collector of fine shaving tools or simply appreciate craftsmanship that can no longer be replicated, this brush represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of wet shaving history. Handcrafted from Premium Materials Olivewood Handle. Made from natural olivewood, each handle has its own distinctive grain and color. It's a hardwood valued for its durability as much as its appearance. Silvertip Badger Knot. Fitted with a genuine Silberspitz (Silvertip Badger) knot—the highest grade of natural badger hair used in traditional shaving brushes. Soft at the tips with enough backbone to load hard soaps and create dense, consistent lather. Handcrafted in Germany. Every Thäter brush was individually handcrafted in Nuremberg using techniques refined over generations. Built to Last. With proper care, a quality shaving brush can provide decades of regular use. Many Thäter brushes made decades ago are still in service today. Why Thäter? One of the Most Respected Names in Wet Shaving. Ask experienced wet shavers to name the finest brush makers of the last century, and Thäter is almost always part of the conversation. The company never produced brushes on the same scale as many larger manufacturers. Instead, it built a reputation for consistency, attention to detail, and some of the finest Silvertip Badger knots available. Although production ended in 2023, demand for Thäter brushes has remained strong among collectors and traditional wet shavers. New, unused examples have become increasingly uncommon. A Brush You'll Own for Years. Originally sold for $350, Thäter's were never intended to compete with mass-produced shaving brushes. It's for the person who values craftsmanship and appreciates products that are made well enough to last. Unlike most premium brushes currently on the market, this isn't something that can simply be reordered from the manufacturer. We have 3 new-in-box units, we don't know when—or if—we'll be able to source another. What's in the Box Brand new handcrafted H.L.
