These properties are known to help improve bone density, stimulate the hair follicles, ease joint pain, improve circulation & so much more. We demand SO much of our bodies on a daily basis. I wanted to craft an offering that will help bring daily strength & nourishment to that which gives us the incredible ability to move through life. One that feeds the bones, hair & nails that are extensions of our beings, of our ancestors. The ‘That Which Binds Us’ line was inspired by my own experience. After I had the ick, I suffered a significant hair loss. The experience of losing clumps of hair was so traumatic for me, as I’ve always had thick, hip length hair. The herbs in this formula are tried & true herbs I have used for my own hair, nails & bones for many years. They’ve also significantly helped me recover after the ick.  I am grateful my experience allowed me to conjure up these deeply supportive allies (That Which Binds Us Elixir, this tea, Nourish Your Roots & Roots of Sif and Odin)  for those who need extra strength & resilience in their lives. Meet the 8 powerhouse Ingredients, all Wildcrafted or Organic: 🌀 Ginkgo Biloba - Ginkgo is one of the oldest living tree species on the planet, more than 225 million years old! This wise ally is deeply supportive to our overall cognitive health and can help maintain healthy circulation. The antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties of ginkgo may help stimulate healthy hair regrowth by improving circulation in the scalp. This allows Ginkgo to directly stimulate hair growth by nourishing the hair follicle. Ginkgo is also thought to help accelerate bone formation and fracture healing. It has been studied in the use of joint pain and may help ease pain and mend connective tissue. 🌀 Gotu Kola - Gotu Kola is a highly prized Ayurvedic herb with so many supportive benefits. With its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it’s known to help ease pain by reducing joint inflammation, cartilage and bone erosion. Research suggests Gotu Kola is wonderful for encouraging & strengthening hair growth and overall circulation. It’s thought to help strengthen the hair follicles by nourishing the scalps blood vessels. It’s also been highly studied in the use of improving cartilage, joint and ligament function. Gotu Kola contains several antioxidants that are thought to also help improve memory and cognition. 🌀 Stinging Nettle Root - Stinging Nettle Root is known as one of the top hair and bone allies. Nettle is known to specifically help block DHT - a hormone that if overproduced can be detrimental to hair follicles. Studies reveal that nettle extract may help block the production of DHT by reducing the production of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. Nettle is packed with a plethora of vitamins and minerals, giving this ally the unique ability to help combat hair loss while also aiding in hair re-growth.  The flavonoids and phenols in Nettles work as a powerful antioxidant, helping rid free radicals and help heal damaged hair strands, roots and follicle. Nettle leaves are also rich in silica, iron and sulfur. All of which play an important role in making collagen and glucosamine, which are vital for healthy hair, bones, nails and joints.  🌀 Horsetail ~ Horsetail is thought of as a deeply wise ally, being a prehistoric plant, it’s referred to as a “living fossil” dating back over 400 million years ago. Being such an ancient plant, they’re used in virtually every culture. As a Saturn-ruling plant, they conjure fire power, energetically bringing you prehistoric healing, wisdom and transformation of ancestors and Earth. Horsetail has the keen ability to really pull up all the minerals and energy from deep in the Earth, making them extremely nourishing and nutritive-dense. Horsetail is a mineral rich ally specifically in their high levels of silica ~ coming from the Earth’s Crust. This makes them amazing medicine for helping hair grow faster and stronger while helping reduce dandruff. They are known to restore antioxidants and help improve blood circulation. This helps restore and rebuild thinning hair, leading to healthier hair follicles. I harvest the horsetail I use fresh along the Oregon Coast, so they're filled with the deep nourishing ancient minerals of both Sea and Earth. Horsetail is also extremely rich in minerals such as silica, which is extremely important for rebuilding and strengthening hair, bones, nails and joints. 🌀 Saw Palmetto - Saw palmetto is a very potent ally often used to balance hormone levels and combat hair loss. According to one study, saw palmetto may help block the activity of 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme that converts testosterone into another sex hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that is linked to hair loss. Saw palmetto may also prevent hair loss by reducing the uptake of DHT in your hair follicles, which decreases DHT’s ability to bind to specific hormone receptors. Studies have also shown that Saw Palmetto may help increase hair density in 83% of people with hair loss. It can also help repair hair texture and shine.  🌀 Amla ~ Amla is a powerfully medicinal fruit tree that grows natively in parts of Asia. It is considered a 'superfood' for the hair. This fruit is jam packed with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and phytonutrients which may help prevent shedding & is a natural conditioner. Amla has very high in antioxidants & contributes to cellular regeneration which promotes healthy circulation to the blood vessels in the scalp. These properties may help to facilitate hair and skin growth and boost the overall health of the hair follicle. 🌀 Oatstraw - This deeply nourishing herb is high in silica, calcium and magnesium, which are essential for stimulating strong growing hair, nails and bones. Oatstraw is thought to be especially beneficial in cases where hair loss and thinning are linked to chronic stress, anxiety or illness. As a nervine, Oatstraw may help relieve the body of stress and anxiety, which can also indirectly prevent hair loss. The micronutrients of Oatstraw can helps strengthen hair, bones, joints and nails while also helping to reduce pain and inflammation.
