Cultivating Tips: For optimal growth and flowering, mimic the natural habitat of Tetramicra elegans. Similar to the Encyclia genus, provide warm and sunny conditions. Here are some key tips to help your Tetramicra elegans thrive: Light: Place your plant in a location with bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct midday sun, as it may scorch the delicate foliage. Temperature: Maintain warm temperatures ranging from 70°F to 85°F (21°C to 29°C) during the day, with a slight drop at night. Humidity: Aim for moderate humidity levels, around 50% to 70%. Misting the foliage occasionally can help, especially in drier environments. Watering: Water your Tetramicra elegans thoroughly when the growing medium approaches dryness. Allow excess water to drain away to prevent waterlogged roots. Air Circulation: Ensure good air circulation around the plant to prevent the onset of fungal diseases and promote healthy growth. Potting Medium: Use a well-draining orchid mix, such as a blend of bark, perlite, and sphagnum moss. Repotting may be necessary every couple of years to refresh the growing medium. Fertilization: Feed your plant with a balanced orchid fertilizer at half strength every two weeks during the growing season. Reduce frequency during the cooler winter months. Rest Period: While Tetramicra elegans doesn't have a pronounced dormancy period, it may appreciate a slight reduction in watering and fertilization during the winter months when growth slows down. This is a blooming size in a 4" pot, newly repotted, about 1 to 2 years to bloom, grown from seed, limited! By following these cultivating tips, you can enjoy the beauty of Tetramicra elegans as it graces your space with its charming presence and delightful blooms. Whether displayed as a miniature epiphyte or lithophyte, this species promises to captivate orchid enthusiasts with its grace and elegance.
