Shopping on South Congress

South Congress is a vibrant neighborhood just south of Lady Bird Lake with some of the city's best restaurants, shopping and bars. It is also home to the famous I Love You So Much and Greetings From Austin wall murals. The neighborhood is a favorite among locals and visitors alike and is a great place to hang and get a true-sense of what Austin is all about!  For a fun bachelorette party afternoon outing, head to South Congress Avenue for window-shopping at the quirky boutiques. When you're ready for a pick-me-up, enjoy a cocktail at Hotel San Jose's adorable courtyard lounge, then head to dinner at Guero's for classic tex-mex and margaritas. Wrap up the evening with a night cap and live show at Austin's famous Continental Club!  Our South Congress favorites:  Allen's Boots Prima Dora Hotel San Jose Home Slice Pizza Joann's Fine Foods Jo's Coffee (home of the famous "I Love You" wall mural)  Guero's Taco Bar Perla's Seafood and Oyster Bar Magnolia Cafe The Continental Club C Boy's Heart & Soul DISCLOSURE: This city guide was written by the Stag & Hen team.
