The "Vino de Sete" (literally “Wine of Thirst”) is a playful and light-hearted take on the Barbera grape, designed for immediate enjoyment and offering a refreshing, juicy character that makes it perfect for casual drinking. Winemaker & Philosophy: Tenuta il Nespolo follows a natural and hands-off winemaking philosophy, emphasizing organic and sustainable farming. The winemaker’s goal is to preserve the integrity of the vineyard and allow the grapes to naturally express their terroir. "Vino de Sete" reflects this philosophy, with spontaneous fermentation, minimal sulfur use, and no filtration, resulting in a wine that is pure, fresh, and unadulterated. Grape Variety & Terroir: Made from 100% Barbera, the grapes are sourced from organically farmed vineyards in Piedmont’s rolling hills, where Barbera thrives in the region’s rich clay-limestone soils. Barbera is known for its naturally high acidity and bright fruit profile, which makes it perfect for producing lively, thirst-quenching wines like "Vino de Sete." Flavor Profile: This Barbera offers a juicy, fruit-forward nose of ripe red berries, including raspberry, cherry, and wild strawberry, with subtle floral notes and a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate, it is light-bodied and refreshing, with bright acidity and flavors of red plum, cranberry, and a touch of earthiness. The tannins are soft and gentle, making this an approachable wine with a smooth, clean finish. Pairings: "Vino de Sete" is a versatile wine perfect for pairing with casual, light dishes such as charcuterie, pizza, grilled vegetables, and simple pasta dishes. It also complements roasted chicken, light pork dishes, and soft cheeses like mozzarella or burrata. Its bright acidity and fruit-driven style make it a great choice for picnics, barbecues, or any relaxed meal. Tenuta il Nespolo’s Barbera "Vino de Sete" is a fresh, fun, and easy-drinking wine, perfect for those seeking a light, juicy red that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with simple, everyday meals.
