Tensan

Discover the artistry of Noro Tensan, a luminous fusion of 68% silk and 32% wool that embodies elegance and natural beauty. Tensan, the Japanese word for “silkworm,” honors the ancient origins of silk — a fiber treasured for its strength, sheen, and timeless luxury. Blended with fine wool, this yarn brings together warmth, resilience, and a glowing softness that feels indulgent against the skin. Each generous 150-gram skein (328 yards) is dyed in Noro’s unmistakable palette, where deep earth tones merge with radiant bursts of color. The flowing gradients and vibrant contrasts reflect Noro’s philosophy of drawing inspiration from the natural world, transforming every skein into a painterly landscape of fiber. With a gauge of 16–20 stitches per 4” (10 cm) on US 7–9 (4.5–5.5 mm) needles, Tensan knits into fabrics that are both light in hand yet enveloping in warmth. From richly textured cardigans and elegant wraps to statement winter accessories and summery tops, every project captures Noro’s signature spirit — a harmony of tradition, texture, and glowing color --- perfect to wear all year round. 68% Silk, 32% Wool 150g = 328yds
