Tempest, Thou Need Not Rage

You've seen these colors in churning waters and unsettled seas. That shade of purple that rolls in before a storm, the deep teal of the sky that hasn't made up its mind yet. One expects turbulence here. It doesn't come. Instead, soft amethyst and hushed teal settle across the surface like a sea that decided to just be still. The gold doesn't crackle, it waltzes unhurried, the way late light moves across water that has finally let go of the wind. This piece is a conversation with the storm. A quiet reassurance. You don't have to. The same colors that carry weight and wildness in nature are here asked to do something harder: to be gentle. And they are. The tones are soothing, the gold is a whisper rather than a lightning bolt. Tempest, Thou Need Not Rage is an invitation to breathe. A reminder that even the most turbulent things carry within them the capacity for calm, that storms, like us, sometimes just need permission to rest. Textured Acrylic on Canvas; 12x12inches.
