Tekken 2 – PlayStation Step into the arena with Tekken 2, the legendary 1995 fighting game from Namco that redefined the home console brawler. As the second installment in the iconic Tekken series, this PlayStation edition brought the adrenaline of arcade battles straight to your living room, complete with full-motion video endings for every character and new game modes that would become series staples. Tekken 2 has since been celebrated with re-releases on Tekken 5 (PS2), PlayStation Network (PS3, PSP), and PlayStation Plus (PS4, PS5), keeping the action alive for both veteran fighters and new players. Gameplay Tekken 2 keeps the core of its predecessor’s combat intact while introducing key innovations. The fighting system uses four intuitive buttons—left punch, right punch, left kick, and right kick—on 2D stages with infinite movement, allowing for fluid combos, back throws, attack reversals, chain throws, and sidesteps. Signature moves like Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima’s sidestep, and Yoshimitsu’s unique spinning sidestep (which comes with a risk-reward twist), add strategic depth to every battle. Each victory in arcade mode unlocks sub-boss characters, expanding your roster of fighters. The PlayStation version introduces modes that would become Tekken essentials: Survival Mode: Face endless opponents with carry-over health to test your stamina and skill. Team Battle Mode: Assemble a team of up to eight fighters for single-round matches, with the winner advancing until your squad is eliminated. Time Attack Mode: Race through the arcade mode as fast as possible to beat your best times. Practice Mode: Hone your moves and combos against a training dummy to master every fighter’s techniques. Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering Tekken for the first time, Tekken 2 on PlayStation delivers thrilling one-on-one battles, deep strategy, and hours of replayable combat fun.
