Teddy Bear® Southern Magnolia | Compact Evergreen

Teddy Bear® Southern Magnolia — Classic Southern Elegance in a Garden-Friendly Size The Southern Magnolia is one of the most iconic trees in American horticulture — but its traditional form can reach 60–80 ft., making it impractical for most home gardens. The Teddy Bear® Southern Magnolia solves that entirely. At a graceful 16–20 ft., it delivers everything the classic magnolia is celebrated for — large, creamy-white fragrant blooms, glossy deep-green evergreen foliage with distinctive fuzzy brown undersides, and a refined upright form — in a size that actually fits a residential landscape. Why It Belongs in Your Garden Spectacular Fragrant Blooms: Large, bowl-shaped creamy-white flowers open in summer and release a rich, sweet fragrance that carries across the garden — one of the most beloved scents in the plant world. Stunning Evergreen Foliage: Glossy, deep-green leaves with warm russet-brown fuzzy undersides provide year-round beauty and structure — even when not in bloom, this tree is exceptional. Compact, Garden-Friendly Size: Reaches 16–20 ft. — a fraction of the traditional Southern Magnolia — making it ideal for smaller yards, foundation plantings, and large patio containers. True Evergreen: Retains its foliage year-round, providing privacy screening, wind buffering, and visual structure through every season. Drought-Tolerant Once Established: Hardy and adaptable once its root system is established, requiring minimal supplemental watering. Low Maintenance: Naturally tidy growth habit requires minimal pruning — just plant it and let it grow into its elegant form. Growing Guide Light: Full sun to part shade Water: Regular watering until established; drought-tolerant thereafter Hardiness: USDA Zones 7–10 Mature Size: 16–20 ft. tall × 8–10 ft. wide Bloom Time: Summer (June–August) Available Sizes: 2 Gallon, 1–2 ft., 4–5 ft., 5–6 ft.
