Technogym: The Art of Wellness

Over thirty years ago, Nerio Alessandri founded Technogym at the age of twenty-two in his home garage, launching a new vision for wellness in an industry dominated by old- fashioned stereotypes of fitness and bodybuilding. Alessandri’s vision had roots in Italian culture — in particular, the ancient Roman concept of “mens sana in corpore sano,” or “a healthy mind in a healthy body.” If fitness means looking good, wellness means feeling good. Since then, Technogym has become a global leader in wellness and sport, transforming the functional concept of fitness into an emotional experience, making products that are true objects of art, and leveraging science and digital innovation. It’s the brand of choice for the best athletes and celebrities around the world, and every day, over 70 million people train on Technogym products in the most prestigious fitness centers, clubs, hotels, medical centers, and private homes around the world. In line with the brand’s original vision, Technogym: The Art of Wellness blends aesthetics, creativity, and the culture of wellness, and takes the reader on an extraordinary journey through Technogym’s history with a selection of images that capture the soul of the brand and the people and events that have defined its path of continuous innovation. Paired with a compelling narrative by journalist Joel Stein, this beautiful volume explores how design, sustainability, and technology come together to inspire movement, promoting both personal and collective well-being. The result is a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the unique appeal that has made Technogym a symbol of excellence in fitness and wellness.
