TeamManila WPS Defend Trucker Hat

The TEAM MANILA WPS DEFEND Trucker Hat highlights the West Philippine Sea, an area within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone that has been the subject of ongoing territorial disputes. The design references Philippine maritime rights and calls attention to the continued presence of Chinese government vessels in Philippine waters. In 2016, an international arbitral tribunal ruled that China’s expansive claims in the West Philippine Sea had no legal basis under international law, affirming the Philippines’ rights. Despite the ruling, tensions in the region persist. This hat uses clear text and geographic symbolism to make the issue visible in everyday wear. It is a direct statement focused on awareness, sovereignty, and historical context.
