TEAC PD-507T Reference CD Transport

The TEAC PD-507T is a dedicated CD transport, not a traditional CD player. It is designed to extract the highest-quality digital signal from your CDs and requires an external DAC for audio playback. Pair it with a premium DAC such as the TEAC UD-507 to experience its full performance potential. The TEAC PD-507T Reference CD Transport is engineered for music enthusiasts who want to unlock the full potential of their CD collection. Built around TEAC's proprietary in-house CD transport mechanism and housed within the compact Reference 500 Series chassis, it delivers an exceptionally stable, low-jitter digital signal to your external DAC. By focusing exclusively on precision disc playback, the PD-507T offers remarkable accuracy, musical detail, and timing, making it an ideal digital source for high-performance two-channel audio systems. Why It Stands Out Proprietary TEAC CD Transport Mechanism Unlike many transports that rely on third-party drives, the PD-507T features TEAC's own transport mechanism based on the proven CD-5020A, long trusted in professional broadcast applications. Combined with custom circuitry and precision engineering, it delivers exceptionally accurate and reliable CD playback. Semi-Floating Drive Mount The transport assembly is mounted using TEAC's semi-floating architecture, reducing the effects of vibration and mechanical resonance. This helps produce a cleaner digital signal with improved focus, greater stability, and a more natural soundstage. Pure Digital Performance As a dedicated CD transport, the PD-507T focuses entirely on extracting digital information with maximum precision. Without an internal DAC, it delivers an exceptionally clean digital signal, allowing your external DAC to perform at its highest level. Independent Power Supply Design Dedicated rectifier circuits separately power the transport mechanism, clock, and digital output stages. This minimizes electrical interference and contributes to lower noise, greater stability, and improved overall musical performance. Selectable Digital Outputs Separate coaxial and optical digital outputs allow users to disable the unused output, reducing unnecessary electrical noise and helping preserve signal purity throughout the playback chain. Precision Clock Synchronization A low phase-noise crystal oscillator provides exceptional timing accuracy, while the dedicated 10MHz external clock input allows synchronization with an external master clock such as the TEAC CG-10M-X for even greater precision and lower jitter. Reference 500 Series Engineering With its rigid aluminum chassis, Stress-Less isolation feet, premium internal construction, and compact A4-sized footprint, the PD-507T delivers reference-quality performance without requiring a full-width component. RockOnAV's Take The PD-507T demonstrates that exceptional CD playback doesn't require a full-size component. TEAC has taken the broadcast-proven reliability of its in-house transport mechanism and refined it for serious Hi-Fi listening, creating a transport that delivers outstanding digital precision in a remarkably compact chassis. Paired with the TEAC UD-507, it forms an exceptional digital front end for music lovers who continue to value the performance of physical media. Its engineering, flexibility, and compact footprint make it one of the most compelling CD transports available in its class.
