Meet Taya. With her strong lines, stylized face and graphic headdress, she could almost be modernist — yet her inspiration comes directly from the faces found in ancient Coptic textiles. Painted entirely in deep blue on the natural pottery, the single-color palette gives the design a distinctly contemporary character.
