Tannic acid is most used to strengthen the bond of the aluminum salt to the cellulose fiber to be dyed, increasing the resultant depth of shade and fastness. Earthues tannic acid is an extract of natural plants containing a high amount of tannic acid, for example quebracho, tara pods, gallnuts and sumac leaves. Tannic acid produces a light tan color. Earthues Tannic Acid is 83 % tannin.
