Tamukeyama Japanese Maple Tree

A Brilliant Foliage Centerpiece! The Tamukeyama Japanese Maple will dazzle the eyes with its brilliant hues of red foliage that last throughout the growing season. Since its inception in 1710, this award-winning tree has brightened up landscape after landscape. Here’s why you should get this exotic tree now… • Cold hardy • Low maintenance • Brilliant colors into late autumn • Perfect for any landscape design Once you get a Tamukeyama Japanese Maple, you know you have a winner. This weeping variety gets its looks going in the early spring with a leaf color of dark-purple reds amidst a blanket of small crimson flowers. Summer brings dark shades of reds followed by a bright scarlet in autumn. No wonder this hardy deciduous tree won a gold medal from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society! Complex Colors, Simple Care Not only does your Tamukeyama Japanese Maple look great, but it's virtually fuss free. The tree can handle almost any soil as long as it's well-drained. Water regularly during the first couple of years, but avoid wet feet. An established tree can handle long dry spells and drought without any issues. Although this type of Japanese maple loves the sun, it’s best to give it dappled afternoon shade in the south. Also, protect it from cold winter winds in the north. Fertilizing is optional. If you want to feed your tree, give it a balanced 10-10-10 organic fertilizer in the early spring. Pruning is also optional, but, if you feel your tree is getting too wide, you can prune it back without a worry. The Tamukeyama can handle it. Plus, you get the added benefit of the tree being pest and disease free. Most of your “work” will be kicking back and enjoying the Tamukeyama Japanese Maple in all its foliage glory! Landscape Star The Tamukeyama’s compact shape (8 ft high and 12 ft wide at maturity) makes it a perfect addition in any of your garden designs. Set it as a backdrop in your perennial garden. Make it a standalone feature in your backyard. The Tamukeyama can even sit pretty in a container for an extra wow factor on your patio. If you live in a more northern climate (above Growing Zone 5), you can bring the tree inside in the winter and add a flourish to your inside decor. Get your Tamukeyama Japanese Maple today, and watch the show of reds come alive in every growing season!
