Tallgrass Tallow Lotion

Tallgrass Tallow Lotion Prairie-rich. Winter-strong. Meet our newest hero, Tallgrass Tallow Lotion: a rich, emollient hand and body lotion designed to lock in moisture and repair the skin barrier when the seasons turn harsh. Made with heritage tallow, shea butter, and prairie botanicals, it delivers a velvety finish that hydrates deeply without feeling greasy. Formulated to echo the strength of tall prairie grass, this lotion restores resilience to weather-worn skin. Perfect for cold winters, dry climates, and anyone in need of true nourishment. *Anytime water meets oils or lipids (as in lotions or creams) an emulsifier is essential to keep them blended and stable. Instead of synthetic emulsifying waxes, we rely on globally approved ECOCERT- and COSMOS-certified ingredients to create our lotions so they are clean, skin-compatible, and naturally balanced.  🌿 Why it works Beef Tallow — Skin-mimicking fats rich in vitamins A, D, E & K that replenish and fortify your barrier. Shea Butter — Adds cushion and softness, relieving rough patches. Sunflower + Jojoba Oils — Lightweight glide that balances tallow’s richness and absorbs cleanly. Botanical Hydrosols — Sweetgrass & cucumber calm, hydrate, and leave a fresh, earthy finish. Vitamin E — Antioxidant protection that soothes stressed skin and keeps oils fresh. ✨ Variations Unscented (Pure Prairie) — Just the natural comfort of tallow and botanicals. Perfect for sensitive skin or scent-free routines. 1916 Blend — A soft prairie bloom inspired by the year our family homesteaded in South Dakota — notes of wildflowers, grasses, and warm hay drifting through open fields. Sweetgrass & Cedar — Earthy and grounding with sweetgrass hydrosol, cedar, patchouli, and frankincense. Feels like dusk in tall prairie fields. Blue Hour — Inspired by the quiet magic of blue hour, this scent pairs the healing touch of tallow with the beautiful scent of blue tansy.  . Geogard 221, a blend of dehydroacetic acid and benzyl alcohol, provides gentle, effective preservation without parabens, formaldehyde, or environmental impact. It’s biodegradable, non-persistent, and active at very low levels to protect water-based products like lotions. For emulsification, Cetearyl Olivate (and) Sorbitan Olivate derived from olive oil and sorbitol creates a stable, silky emulsion without synthetic waxes or PEGs, while mimicking the skin’s natural barrier to support hydration, softness, and resilience. Together, they deliver a clean, skin-compatible formula that absorbs beautifully and leaves skin balanced and nourished.
