Kahala x Duke Kahanamoku® - Taiyaki

Crafted from Kahala’s signature cotton broadcloth, Taiyaki is a heritage 1950s print from the original Duke Kahanamoku by Kahala. It features a large-scale fish design inspired by traditional Japanese woodblock artwork—drawn with intricate linework, bold vertical lines, and striking color blocking. The vintage-inspired button-down collar, French front placket, and coconut buttons pay homage to classic aloha shirt silhouettes, while a matched pocket adds a timeless touch. The bold, saturated colors are achieved through discharge printing—a complex process that extracts dye from the fabric to reveal the design. Proudly made in Hawai‘i, Taiyaki embodies the true Ambassador of Aloha in every stitch.
