Niagara is a seeded American white grape with greenish-white slip-skin berries and a floral, distinctly American-grape flavor. It is used for juice, jelly, fresh eating, and some wine styles; it is not a seedless cultivar. This product is one dormant bare-root vine. Niagara grape vine details Plant form: One dormant bare-root grape vine USDA hardiness zones: 5–8 Pollination: Self-fruitful; a second grape variety is not required for fruit set Harvest: Commonly late summer into early fall; timing varies with climate and growing conditions Pruning: Cane prune during dormancy and train on a sturdy trellis, arbor, or wire system Fruit: Greenish-white seeded slip-skin berries with juicy pulp and floral flavor Planting and care Plant in full sun, with at least seven to eight hours of direct light, in well-drained soil. Install permanent support at planting. Water deeply during establishment without leaving the root zone saturated. Annual dormant pruning renews fruiting wood and keeps the canopy open. Niagara needs a sufficiently long season to ripen; Oregon State Extension cites about 2,000 growing degree days as a useful regional benchmark. Harvest and shipping notes Taste fruit from several clusters before harvest because grapes do not continue to ripen after picking. A dormant bare-root vine may arrive leafless; this is normal. Establishment, ripening, and crop size depend on site, weather, vine age, pruning, and care.
