Tabasco Pepper (Capsicum frutescens)

Famous for its Louisiana hot sauce namesake, this popular heirloom bears scads of flavorful, fiery 2” peppers. Bushy plants are 2’ in diameter and reach 3-6’ tall. Peppers evolve from green, to orange, to deep red when ripe. Tabasco loves sun and heat. 25 seeds minimum Germination: 21-28 days Maturity: 90-96 days Start indoors 8-12 weeks before the last frost. Plant 1/4" deep in seed starting mix. Requires soil temperatures of 65-90F to germinate. Heat mat is recommended. Keep soil moist. Transplant in full sun when all danger of frost has passed. Bottom leaves should be just above ground level. Space plants 12-18” apart; space rows 2-4' apart.
