The T&G Installation Helper aids in hanging the boards, not determining the design layout. Re-positioning the tool while securing the first three rows of boards is required and depends on how you layout your boards. In some builds, using 2 T&G tools can be beneficial to the installer. This all depends on the installers skill and needs for the job. (2) When using the T&G Installation Helper on ceilings, the shorter end always faces the ceiling, and the long end always faces the floor. If used on walls, the shorter end always faces the wall, and the long end always faces the installer. (3) Secure the T&G Installation Helper using a #10, 3 1/2" washer head wood screw (not included) on the rafter of your choosing. This depends on how your laying out your rows.    For full instructions on use of tool view: How it Works   See how it works in this short 18-second video.   Product Details SPECIFICATIONS Spec Detail Board Thickness Used with boards up to 3/4" inches in thickness Max Board Length Used with boards up to 16' feet in length Mounting #10 × 3½" washer-head wood screw (not included) Material Injection-molded, construction-grade plastic Weight 1.5 pounds Color Black Patent Patent Pending Origin 100% Made in the USA   Key Features Solo Install Ready: Perfect for one-person crews and DIY projects. Start by removing the screws that hold the two halves of the tool together. Use only the shorter half with the spacer. Secure this piece to the stud, then rotate it 90 degrees so the longer section is out of the way while positioning the sheet. Once the sheet is in place, rotate the tool back 90 degrees so it is vertical. The spacer will support the sheet’s weight, while the longer section presses it firmly against the studs. Confirm alignment, fasten the sheet, then remove the tool and repeat the process. The T&G Installation Helper was born from necessity and determination. As a retired contractor with multiple shoulder surgeries and limited mobility, I faced a challenge many solo builders know too well: fighting gravity, alignment, and frustration when working alone. While constructing a two-story barn for my wife, I redesigned jigs passed down from my father, who was also a contractor, transforming them into a single, efficient tool that made solo installation not only possible but practical. That was the motivation and drive behind creating this tool, to make solo installs safer, faster, and frustration-free. It was designed not just for myself, but for anyone who's ever struggled to hold boards in place, stay aligned, and work efficiently without a helper. The goal was simple: to empower others, from DIYers tackling home projects with confidence to professional builders providing for their families with a tool that makes every job smoother and more achievable.
