The nose offers a complex, concentrated mix of Bing cherry, boysenberry, and black currant, which is seamlessly layered with subtle, luxurious notes of dark chocolate and vanilla bean from the new oak. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, delivering intense, concentrated flavors of blackberry, cassis, and ripe black plum. It features a plush mid-palate and possesses fine-grained, firm tannins and vibrant acidity that provide impeccable structure and lift. The finish is long and velvety, carrying hints of mocha and baking spice, demonstrating a harmonious balance of power and elegance built for long-term cellaring. The Switchback Ridge 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is an estate-grown wine sourced exclusively from the Peterson Family Vineyard in the Calistoga sub-appellation of Napa Valley. This family has maintained their historic property for over a century, providing the foundation for this high-quality, handcrafted wine. The 2023 vintage is a blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petite Sirah, crafted by renowned winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, who began consulting for the winery in 2021. The wine is aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak, a decision that enhances the wine's powerful structure and deep flavors, resulting in a low production of just over 500 cases. This deliberate, high-touch winemaking approach is designed to create a Cabernet that balances intensity with elegance. 750ml
